Hollow Knight has a double jump ability known as the Monarch Wings. This ability is super fun to use and is reset every time the player lands on the ground or performs a “pogo”. A pogo is a down attack. An example is a down attack off of an enemy, purple mushrooms or spikes. Monarch Wings are super helpful when platforming and with boss fights.

We will start the King’s Station and make our way to the right.
Keep going to the left until you reach a fork in the road. You will want to follow the sign and go down.
Continue to follow the path down the broken elevator shaft and then to the end of the next room. You will find a hole in the room.
The next room is a tram station that can’t be used until you acquire the tram pass which is located in Deep Nest. Continue down into the next room
Drop down and hug the right wall. Here you can find Cornifer. After picking up the map drop to the bottom of the room and you will see three paths.
- The path to the far right requires Monarch Wings to jump up and will lead to a bench, stag station and White Palace. The White palace is not available until you have the Dream Nail and 1,800 essence to upgrade to the Awoken Dream Nail.
- The path that goes down will be blocked until you get the Kings Brand. Monarch Wings are required to fight a boss and get the Kings Brand
- The path to the left will lead to a bench and then to a boss and ultimately the Monarch Wings
You will have to pay a toll to get the bench to appear. You will want to get this bench just incase you lose to the boss
Use Crystal Heart to make your way across the spike area and into the next room
Follow the only available path down and around until you reach a boss fight with the Broken Vessel.
After defeating the Broken Vessel, it will open the path to be able to reach the Monarch Wings. Just note that this will now change the Forgotten Crossroads into the Infected Crossroads. The other trigger to make the Forgotten Crossroads infected is unlocking one of the Dreamers.
At this point you likely have every ability to get around Hollow Knight quickly and easily. The next thing to do would be to get the dream nail and start completing the game or to upgrade all three spells to Shade Soul, Descending Dark and Abyss Shriek.
